In plain language
- No account. Reelcove has no sign-in, no user ID, no password to leak.
- No analytics, no trackers. There is no analytics SDK in the app, and its App Store privacy manifest declares zero tracking.
- Your library stays on your device. Everything you save is stored locally in an on-device database — never uploaded to a Reelcove server, because no such server exists.
- One kind of outside request: fetching a title, thumbnail, and author for a link you save, directly from the platform it came from.
What Reelcove stores
Reelcove is a personal library for short-form video links. When you share or paste a link into the app, it creates one record for that reel, stored only on your device:
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| sourceURL | The link you saved. |
| platform | The platform detected from the link (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, or other). |
| title / caption | The public title or caption published with the original post, where available. |
| authorName | The public creator handle or name attached to the original post. |
| thumbnailReference | A link to the preview image — Reelcove does not download or store the image or video file itself. |
None of this is information about you — Reelcove never asks for your name, email, contacts, location, or photos, and doesn't read anything else on your device. There is nothing to type in beyond the link itself.
How it's used
The saved fields above exist for exactly one purpose: rendering your library as readable cards, and letting you filter them by platform or open the original post to play it. Reelcove does not build a profile of you, does not use your saved links for advertising, and does not run any recommendation or ranking system on your data.
Storage & sync
Your library lives in an on-device database, in a container shared only between the Reelcove app and its Share Extension (the sheet you use to save a reel from Instagram, TikTok, and other apps) — that sharing is what lets a reel you save from the share sheet show up back in the app. It is not synced to iCloud, not backed up to any Reelcove-operated server, and not accessible to any other app on your device.
If you use Apple's own device or iCloud backup features, your backup provider is Apple, governed by Apple's own privacy terms — Reelcove has no part in that process.
Sharing & sale of data
Reelcove does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. There is no one to share it with — the app has no backend, no company database, and collects nothing that could be sold. The only outside parties involved are the platforms named in Section 03, and only for the single lookup described there.
Your choices
- Delete a reel anytime from your library or its detail view — it's removed immediately from the on-device database.
- Delete everything by deleting the app. Because nothing is stored remotely, removing Reelcove from your device removes your entire library with it — there's no account to close and no server copy to request deletion of.
Children's privacy
Reelcove is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children — it has no account system or data collection to begin with.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Reelcove adds a feature that changes what's described above — the "Effective" date at the top of this page will be updated to reflect it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
